Problem:
Resins, shipped in metal drums, became contaminated with small iron particles that were a hazard to the machinery used to make pressure-sensitive tape at a Long Island City, NY, USA company.
Solution:
Since the resins are first chipped and formed into small pellets, an Eriez
Grate Magnet — installed so that the pelletized resin filtered through the grate ahead of the precision machines — removed the contaminating iron particles.
